flag.jpg The past week has been full of events. A group of volunteers came to paint the walls of our new school, a German broadcasting team came to take some shots for a documentary and five new kids arrived at The Nest! Amongst them are three school-aged children whose mother is imprisoned, a little baby girl who has been severly abused and neglected by her own mother and this little abandoned baby boy who is probably less than two weeks old! We are glad to be able to take in all of these children – they desperately need the warmth of a new home.

Happy smiles

flag.jpg Many friends of The Nest have known Mary since the very day she came to us. It seems like a long long time ago.

And she really has come a long way and is growing up to be a little self-confident girl gaining more and more in her interpersonal and social skills. Considering the state she was in when she arrived at The Nest, we enjoy each and every happy smile on her face.

Final up-date: Baby Lucy

flag.bmp Dominique, our good friend of The Nest, has been a major support in Baby Lucy’s case. Thanks to her great efforts of fund raising in this special case, Baby Lucy now looks into a brighter future! Dominique puts the last couple of days into words:

“Unfortunately, Lucy couldn’t get operated on Monday because the hospital did not do some major x-rays and tests in time. But she finally got operated on Wednesday and was already in Irene’s arms at 6pm. She didn’t even need to go into intensive care unit. She is really tough! I believe the doctors managed to save her uterus and anus. Thanks to everyone for your generous support – Dominique”

And thanks to each and every person who has been thinking and praying for our little one.
