Its Blog Action Day and 5 boys at The Nest planted an indigenous tree each.

The past week has been full of events. A group of volunteers came to paint the walls of our new school, a German broadcasting team came to take some shots for a documentary and five new kids arrived at The Nest! Amongst them are three school-aged children whose mother is imprisoned, a little baby girl who has been severly abused and neglected by her own mother and this little abandoned baby boy who is probably less than two weeks old! We are glad to be able to take in all of these children – they desperately need the warmth of a new home.

Vergangene Woche im Nest war voller Ereignisse. Eine große Gruppe freiwilliger Helfer kam ins Nest um dabei zu helfen, die neuen Klassenräume zu streichen; ein Team vom bayerischen Fernsehen hatte sich angekündigt und drehte ein paar Minuten Sendezeit für die Ausstrahlung “irgendwann im nächsten Jahr”; und fünf neue Kinder kamen zu uns ins Nest! Darunter drei ausgehungerte Geschwisterkinder, deren Mutter inhaftiert ist; ein kleines Mädchen, das von seiner Mutter am ganzen Körper schwer misshandelt wurde und ein ausgesetzter Säugling, grade mal 2 Wochen alt. Wir sind froh, dass die Kinder bei uns gelandet sind – sie alle brauchen viel “Nestwärme”, das sieht man ihnen an.
