To make your own beanbags you will need: small balloons, sand and a funnel (we used the top of a plastic water bottle). Fill the sand into the balloons using the funnel. When the balloon reaches a handy size, tie a knot…

…and try them out!

Last January we reported (here) about how the construction of the new classrooms at The Nest was proceeding. Since then we have been asked many times whether the kids have already “moved in”? Well, it will take just a little while from now. Here is a recent pic:

Zuletzt berichteten wir (hier) im Januar von unserem neuen Schulhaus direkt vor den Toren des Nests. Nun bekommen wir häufig die Frage gestellt, ob denn die Kinder schon “eingezogen” sind? Eine ganz kleine Weile wird es wohl noch dauern. Hier ein aktuelles Bild als Antwort:

Und noch immer gilt: Besonders die größeren Kinder sind schon voller Vorfreude. Bald dürfen sie sich morgens “auf-den-Weg-in-die-Schule” machen und in einem richtigen Klassenzimmer lernen. Bisher stehen die Klassenräume allerdings noch leer. Wer hilft mit, sie mit Schulbänken, Büchern und Lernmaterial zu füllen?

And this still applies: Soon the building can be completed and the children can’t wait to actually “go-out-to-school”! However the classrooms are still empty. Will you help us fill them with books, desks and learning materials?

Für Sonnenschein im Nest – des Nachts und bei (häufigen) Stromausfällen – werden unsere neuen Lampen von Solux e.V. sorgen! Die Lampen sind eine wunderbare Erfindung: robust gebaut, einfach zu bedienen und so hell wie ein Sonnenstrahl am Morgen! Herzlichen Dank an Ekkehard, Christel und Co.!

There is now sunshine at The Nest – even at night and during power-cuts- thanks to our new solar lamps donated from Solux e.V.! The lamps are a great invention – they are firmly built, easy to operate and light up like a ray of sunshine!
